Tiwa Savage Saga: Annie Idibia may be next – Imelda J

Nigerian Afro pop singer, Imelda Ada Okwori, popularly known as Imelda J, says Nigerian celebrities, especially the females always put up deceptive identities.

She said this as she expressed her opinion regarding the ongoing controversy on the marriage relationship of Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage.

Tiwa had granted a 45 minutes tell-it-all interview in which she made some shocking revelations about her husband, Teebillz, after he ranted on Instagram accusing her of infidelity.

The ‘Emergency’ crooner backed up her colleague in the industry, saying she would have done same.

She, however, called out the likes of Annie Idibia and Omotola Jalade.

According to the Benue State-born singer who just released her new single, ‘OwoYato’ ft Small Doctor, it is never rosy in their (female celebrities’) marriages but they come out to paint it white, when it is undoubtedly black, hence, putting married folks who have issues, on an edge.

In a interview with DAILY POST, Imelda put herself in Tiwa’s shoes, saying, “Since this thing happened, a lot of people have been calling on Tiwa Savage, querying her on why she granted such an interview, but to me, that was the only way since her husband literally dragged her out.

“Why didn’t he stay inside the house to settle it or consult one or two elders in the family?

“He came out because he knew very well Tiwa was a public figure, hence, she is vulnerable to so many things.

“So I think she did the right think for coming out to speak. I don’t see anything wrong with what she did.

“Many people might see it as such, but if I were the one, I would have no option but to use the same medium she used,” Imelda added.

“Tiwa even went as far as saying she is still praying for her husband, so, I don’t see it as a power tussle thing. I see it as a defence mechanism to protecting her career which was at stake.

“Teebillz’s intention was to drag her down, abuse her brand. He had said, “It will never be good for you and your career.’’

“He shouldn’t have gone out cursing her even if he was going to accuse her. So for him to have done such, it was something he had premeditated, it is something he has been working on. It is possible that he might have even bragged before her that he was going to drag her down following his comment on ‘I made you who you are; and even uploading her old pictures.

“When Tiwa got married I was very happy knowing that finally, female musicians can get married and still carry on with their career, unlike before when people used to think by the time one gets married, the career is over.

“Some managers take advantage of managing your career just like Teebillz did. I remember I signed a deal sometime last year and immediately the deal was signed, we were to call for a press conference, messages had been sent out. Then the young man drove in and was like ‘hey Imelda, I sent for you several times and you refused to come” what was the deal?

“Come to my hotel, was it going to be? Yes, I have to date you and after that dating what is going to come up? Yes I made you, you have nowhere else to go than to marry you.

“Tiwa to me has been going through a lot, so coming out to say it was the best thing she did. You can imagine the marriage; they went all the way to Dubai to celebrate; it already crashed, so why spend so much of that money when you would have invested it into a business?

“You know, her marriage was even over like last year because I got to know so much, but I didn’t talk because it isn’t my family and I don’t like to delve into people’s family matters.

“First and foremost, if I were Tiwa, I wouldn’t have gone into that marriage. Tiwa’s case should serve as a lesson to several other celebrities because one mistake they actually make is they always make the marriage look like everything is smooth. No point coming to the public to rob it on peoples face like “oh my sweet heart, my love.

“You see, most of them would be slapped by their husbands and immediately after, they would go on the social media to confess love to their husband.

“I would like to advise someone like Annie Idibia to start learning and also Omotola and several others because we all know marriage is not a bed of roses.

“They are going through so much in their matrimonial homes and we all know the truth, so why come out to make other people that are watching out for them act like “why is my role model’s marriage sweet but mine isn’t?

“They are already causing damages to so many homes. Keep your kisses and love ventures to yourselves, don’t come and rub it on people’s faces in the social media. People would think it is all rosy, meanwhile, you are going through hell and pretending to be in heaven.

“Go and ask Tiwa. That was exactly what she did, meanwhile, she was in hell, paying bills,” Imelda blasted.
