Sundar Pichai The Ceo Of Google Visits Nigeria And To Train 10m Africans
Sundar Pichai, The current CEO of Google first visit to Nigeria, he also announced his plan to train 10million africans in digital skills. He has successfully launched the YouTube Go – offline version of YouTube video sharing platform for users with slow internet connection.
The youtube go will enable users especially in nigeria who have slow internet connection to be able to download youtube videos instead of streaming it online and also save cost of data usage.
In the middle east of africa, Qatar has the fastest internet connection of up to 13.7mbps while nigeria has 3.9mbps average speed when compared to countries in the middle east.
Meanwhile, Nigeria has a 191million population and an estimated 91million Internet users.
In the other hand, Google Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google also tweeted about training 10m Africans. Saying;
“Thrilled that we’re expanding our digital skills program to train 10M Africans over the next 5 years #GoogleforNigeria,”
Training 10million Nigerians will build businesses, create jobs and boost economic growth across the continent.
