Slaughter any cattle found roaming –  Senate 

​The Senate has ordered that cows found roaming the Federal Capital Territory should be slaughtered.This followed the continuous movement of cowsin the city centre despite several warnings by the Federal Capital Territory Authorities (FCTA).

The directive was handed down to the Minister ofFederal Capital Territory, Alhaji Mohammed Bello, when he appeared before the Senate committee on FCT, on Monday September 26, Vanguard reports.

 Community drags FG to ECOWASA week ago, the FCTA directed law enforcement agencies to enforce a total ban on cattle grazing, begging, street hawking and commercial motorcycle (Okada) in the FCT.The chairman of the committee, Senator Dino Melaye, (APC, Kogi West), expressed disappointment at the manner Fulani herdsmen defy the order that they should not move their cows in the capital city.

He said it was annoying and embarrassing that despite the ban placed on cattle grazing in FCT by FCTA, some stubborn herdsmen were still moving cows along and across highways within the metropolis.
