The Rivers State government says it has kick started the process of rice production in the state as part of measures to boost food security and create employment for the youths.
The State Commissioner for Agriculture Onimim Jack disclosed this while briefing journalists on activities lined up to mark the 2016 World Food Day in Port Harcourt. Onimim Jack said Rivers State’s soil is good for all kinds of food production.
The Rivers State Commissioner for agriculture Onimim Jacks called on residents of the State to take advantage of the world food day and buy food items directly from the farmers at a cheaper rate.
