“Real Madrid Don’t Need David De Gea” Edwin Van Der Sar

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar feels Real Madrid do not need to revive their interest in David de Gea.

Madrid were on the verge of signing the current United stopper last summer, but the deal collapsed at the 11th hour.

Real have been tipped to launch another move for the Spaniard at the end of the season, despite Keylor Navas’ excellent form this term.


Van der Sar was asked by AS if he can see De Gea in a Real Madrid shirt and replied: “No, De Gea plays for Manchester United.

“I think Real Madrid already have a very good keeper in Keylor Navas, he is also a very strong keeper and he’s been important to the club. That’s the situation at the moment.”
