So Taylor Swift sang Calvin Harriss song and now parties with Katy Perry?
Perry and T. Swift have been in an alleged feud for a couple of years now after the blonde bombshell heavily insinuated in a September 2014 Rolling Stone interview that the “Roar” entertainer “basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour” by allegedly stealing some of her backup dancers. The feud is widely believed to be the inspiration behind Swift’s hit “Bad Blood.”
Perry was later dragged into Calvin Harris and Swift’s tumultuous June 2016 split when he name-dropped her in a lengthy Twitter rant about his ex. “I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it,” the Scottish DJ, 32, tweeted in July. (Months later, Perry told a fan on Twitter that she’d collaborate with Swift “if she says sorry.”)
As for the Mayer tie in, both Perry and Swift have dated the “Gravity” crooner. Swift famously penned the song “Dear John” about him, which he later admitted caught him by surprise and “humiliated” him.
“I never got an e-mail. I never got a phone call,” Mayer told Rolling Stone. “I was really caught off-guard, and it really humiliated me at a time when I’d already been dressed down. I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you’ve ever been, someone kicked you even lower?”
It was bound to happen eventually: Ex-friends Taylor Swift and Katy Perry were spotted taking pictures with the same guests at Drake’s 30th birthday bash on Sunday in West Hollywood, though of course, not together
A source tells E! News that Perry and Mayer “spoke throughout the night” very “peacefully.” Mayer and Swift, on the other hand, “didn’t cross paths” despite the fact that the party was an “intimate, mellow evening.”
As for the eats, guests were treated to a Carbone menu featuring Octopus Pizzaiolo, Caesar alla ZZ, and mixed antipasti for their appetisers, and Bass Oreganata, Spicy Rigatoni, Veal Parmesan, and Chicken Massimo as their main course. Dessert consisted of rainbow cookies and a delicious-looking blackout cake.
Of course, the “Summer Sixteen†rapper spared no expense on his truly spectacular birthday cake, which featured pictures of his father on the top tier, and adorable baby pictures of himself on the bottom tier.
“It really means a lot to me, everybody being here,†Drake addressed the crowd in an Instagram video from the party. “The support that you give, night in and night out for the team that’s with me every day …â€
There was no sign of Rihanna at the party, which isn’t surprising given the two reportedly split again earlier this month.
